  • How do I start if I am a beginner?

If you are an adult (ages 16 or older) it is best to attend a class on a Monday or Wednesday evening.

If you are a parent of a child (ages 5 or older), you can come anytime that the children’s classes are held.

  • What should I wear?

You do not need to wear anything special for the first day. Just wear comfortable clothes that you would normally wear to the gym. (sweatpants, shorts, tee shirt)

  • What should I expect to do on my first day?

You will be instructed by an experienced Instructor / BJJ practitioner. The BJJ Instructor will go over basic movements and techniques to introduce you to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

You or your parent guardian will be expected to sign a participation waiver form before you can participate in a class.

  • What happens during a typical class?

A typical class starts with (unstructured or structured) warm ups and stretching. After warming up, the group lesson covers the technique of the day followed by positional drills. At the end of the drills, there is typically ample time for students to train by free sparring with each other.
